With 10 years sales, technical and management experience in the antiques & fine art trades, I understand the specialist requirements of this business.

From 1992 to 1999 I worked with Tomlinson Furniture Group (the UK's largest antique furniture dealers), gaining valuable experience in all areas of the trade.

Primary roles included the marketing of antiques online via digital imaging, attending auctions and fairs, selling to retail and the International trade, specifying and supervising restoration work, organising container shipments and the safe transport of furniture.

From 1999 to 2001 I played a central role at icollector.com, the pioneering industry web site.

Based in London but regularly travelling to meet auctioneers and dealers throughout the UK, North America and Europe, I gained an in-depth understanding of the issues surrounding the online promotion and sale of art and antiques.

Working alongside the eBay US team I refined, marketed and deployed their "Live Auctions" technology worldwide.

As a driving force in the implementation of this technology, I organised and attended the first eBay Live Auctions in Europe and the UK, plus many US & Canadian auctions. eBays' platform is now the recognised standard for real-time Internet bidding at over 80 "bricks and mortar" auction houses.

Visiting clients to conduct auctions, provide advice, education and technical support, I recognise there are business issues that often hinder UK companies in properly exploiting the new media.

My experience is in finding practical and creative solutions. Enabling your business to adapt and gain the benefits of a global marketplace.
